This is looking like a very warm colored quilt right now.

Since this Kona Solids bundle was my starting point for this quilt,

it looks like there will be some blues and cool lavenders, too,

in the future blocks ...

I am so excited to share another rendition of the Hope’s Path quilt made by Susan Wells. This quilt was created with Andover fabrics designed by Libs Elliott. I love the color purple; it was actually the accent color at my wedding. Workshop, the fabric line used in this quilt, came out earlier this year. It offers a full range of colors from pinks to yellows to greens to blues to grays all the way to blacks. The designs found within it are simple and truly abstract.

Like many quilters, I love to make quilts for family members. The latest to receive a quilt is my niece Abby.

Abby is my youngest niece and she lives outside Chicago. She is also a college freshman and her quilt is going to college.

My other two nieces grew up five miles from me. I was blessed that they spent hours at my home being creative. They started sewing early on. If you search back through the blog, you’ll find photos of the work they did, from scrunchies to quilts.

For our fourth make of Christmas we are replaying our tutorial for Ribbon Candy, a modern, fat quarter friendly holiday quilt that is perfect for using up all your extra Christmas fabric or that holiday fat quarter bundle you just had to have.

About half of the quilt is strip pieced so it goes quickly, it really shows off large prints well and a neutral strip between every fabric means you can pack a lot of fabrics in while still giving the eye a place to rest.
